This weekend, the fifth round of the German Motocross Championship (DMX) took place in Grevenbroich.

Using the event as preparation for her upcoming Home GP, Lynn Valk (2-1) claimed the overall victory with a strong performance in the second moto. Battling with Fontanesi in race one, she couldn’t find a way through, but bounced back in the second race to take the win. A valuable boost of confidence as she heads into next weekend, where the Van Venrooy KTM Racing Team rider will aim to shine. Current second of the WMX World Championship, Kiara Fontanesi (1-2), also used the German sand as the perfect warm-up. The Italian won the opening moto and led much of the second before being overtaken by Valk’s relentless pace. A promising second place finish as she prepares for a crucial GP in the title fight. Shana van der Vlist (3-5) completed the podium. The Dutch rider showed good speed in race one but struggled to maintain the same rhythm in the second. Still, important track time one week before a key round where she will target another podium finish.

Lucy Barker (6-3) secured fourth overall. The three-time EMX champion had a solid first moto before a crash cost her valuable positions. She rebounded in the second with a strong ride and will be one to watch next weekend. Larissa Papenmeier (5-4) didn’t enjoy her best weekend, but still managed to gain useful race experience. The SYE 423 Racing Team rider also extended her advantage over her direct rivals in the championship standings. Danée Gelissen (4-6) took sixth overall. The De Baets MX Team rider impressed in moto one, winning her battle with Papenmeier, and then fought hard with van der Vlist in the second. A strong and consistent result for the Dutch rider.

Jenitty van der Beek (8-7) showed consistency throughout the day, earning seventh overall thanks to two solid comeback rides. Fiona Hoppe (10-9) returned to form with an encouraging pace, finishing eighth. Elena Kapsamer (9-10) matched Hoppe on points, but a mistake early in the second moto prevented her from climbing higher, leaving her ninth overall. Defending champion Alexandra Massury (12-8) rounded out the Top 10. After a disappointing first moto where she never found her rhythm, she delivered a stronger ride in the second to regain some confidence.
