The legendary Gotland Grand National once again lived up to its reputation as one of the toughest off-road races in the world. This year’s edition was marked by brutal weather and muddy terrain, with many riders unable to finish as their engines gave in to the challenging conditions.
In the women’s category, Hedvig Malm (KTM Scandinavia) delivered a masterclass performance on Saturday, dominating the race from start to finish. Malm crossed the line with a commanding lead over Matilda Huss (Husqvarna), who repeated her strong form from last year to take second place once again. Hanna Berzelius (Husqvarna) completed an all-Swedish podium, finishing third—just as she did in the 2024 edition. The trio showcased incredible skill and endurance in one of the season’s most grueling events.
Behind the leading trio, Angelina Matsson impressed with a solid fourth-place finish — the only rider to complete the same number of laps as the top three. Norwegian rider Malene Seljeseth secured fifth, followed by Wilma Bengtsson and Vilma Norlander. Mathea Selebø, a familiar name from the WMX World Championship, fought through the mud to take eighth place, with Sofia Grelsson and Tuva Bernhardsson rounding out the top 10.
Unfortunately, Tyra Bäckström was forced to retire due to a mechanical issue, while defending champion Martine Hughes was unable to complete the first lap.
