The grand finale of the German Motocross Championship (DMX) took place this Sunday at the MSC Thurm circuit. Absent from the previous round due to a clash with the World Championship in Turkey, Larissa Papenmeier returned in dominant form. The SYE 423 Racing Team rider won both races unchallenged and officially secured the German title. After finishing fourth in the WMX World Championship, the Honda rider adds yet another trophy to her impressive career.
Barker pushes the Champion
British rider Lucy Barker joined the action in Germany for this final round. In strong form at the end of the season, her duel with Papenmeier was highly anticipated. The KTM rider delivered a strong performance, even overtaking the German for the lead in the second moto. Despite her efforts, Papenmeier regained control and took the win. Barker finished second on the day.
Massury on the podium
Reigning 2024 German Champion Alexandra Massury completed the podium. The KTM rider, who also missed the previous round, managed two solid starts. A small mistake in the opening race cost her, but she recovered with a clean second moto to wrap up the season in style, finishing second overall in the championship.
Tanja Schlosser, who celebrated her first win earlier this year in Teutschenthal, ended the day in fourth. A strong first moto combined with a few errors in the second left her just off the podium for the round. Nevertheless, her consistency earned her a spot on the championship podium.
Strong performances to end the season
Austrian rider Elena Kapsamer rounded out the top five. After a difficult first start, she bounced back with a strong second moto to close a promising season. She finished ahead of fellow Austrian Jana Bohle, who was crowned Swiss Champion just a week earlier. Making her debut in the German series this season, Bohle impressed with her speed.
Fiona Hoppe secured seventh place at the end of the year on a high note. Since recovering from injury, the Triumph rider has shown steady progress. EMX 125 European runner-up Kyshara Das also took part in the final. Fifth in the opening race, a crash two lapses before the finish line set her back. The Dutch rider still managed to finish ahead of Pauline Sczeponek and Tarja Kück, who closed out the top ten.
