KTM announced a major leadership change. Stefan Pierer, the longtime CEO who transformed KTM from a regional brand into a global powerhouse, has stepped down. Pierer, who led the company since 1992, handed over his role to co-CEO Gottfried Neumeister. While stepping back, Pierer will remain a key part of the executive board, contributing to KTM’s turnaround strategy.
Pierer expressed confidence in Neumeister, stating, “KTM has always been more than just a company to me – it’s a passion and a family. I believe Neumeister is the right choice to lead KTM into the future.” Neumeister, in turn, pledged to uphold KTM’s legacy while driving innovation and setting new industry standards.
KTM also revealed that multiple financing offers have been received, with investors allowed to acquire up to a 30% stake in the company’s restructuring plan. The transition in leadership and potential investments are viewed as pivotal steps in overcoming the company’s ongoing crisis.
