The 2025 ISDE begins this Sunday in Bergamo, Italy. The world’s best drivers will be competing. Here’s some information before the start.

A Challenging course

The ISDE 2025 in Bergamo will feature a diverse and challenging course, covering approximately 1,300 km over six days. The route will traverse various terrains, including Val Cavallina, Val Calepio, and Val Seriana, offering a mix of fast trails, technical sections, and scenic landscapes. Riders can expect a combination of cross tests, enduro tests, and liaisons, with increasing difficulty as the event progresses. The final day will culminate in a Final Cross Test at the Covo MX Track, approximately 30 km from the paddock, where riders will compete in a motocross-style race to conclude the event.

Weather forecast: a good week

The weather is expected to be unpredictable this week with a lot of rain, which could make the 2025 edition even more complicated and bring its share of surprises.

Competitors and History

The Australian team remains the nation with the most Women’s Trophy wins to date, with six titles. Jessica Gardiner and Danielle McDonald will be supported by Madi Healey after Tayla Jones’ injury, in their quest for another title. The defending champions, the United States, are aiming to win another title and equal the record held by the Australians. Brandy Richards has recovered from her injury in time and will lead this team, composed of Korie Steede and Rachel Gutish. The French team has also won five titles. Led by Justine Martel, Mauricette Brisebard, and Lorna Lafont, their goal will be to reach the podium. Great Britain completes the quartet of winners of the trophy since its creation in 2007. With a victory under their belt, the podium will be the goal for Nieve Holmes, Elisabeth Tett, and Katie Walker.

At home, Italy will be looking to shine. Led by Women’s Enduro World Championship leader Francesca Nocera, the team aims to mix it up with the top teams. Sara Traini and Asia Volpi are ready. Canada is an outsider. Shelby Turner will bring Emma Sharpless and Marie-Claude Boudreau with her. Also competing are Team Germany (Laura Soller, Hedi Baum, and Celine Heistermann), Team Slovakia (Natalia Bucova, Barbora Barborová, and Gabriela Cipkova), and Team Chile, which could cause a surprise, led by Tania Gonzalez, Belen Norambuena, and Correa Ignacia.
