This Saturday saw the seventh round of the National Grand Prix Championship (NGPC) at Ridgecrest. After an intense chase in the opening laps, Ava Silvestri snatched the lead from Nielsen on the third lap and steadily widened her gap, finally returning to victory after a string of runner-up finishes. The GasGas rider remains second in the overall standings heading into the final round.
It was a well-earned victory, helped in part by the day’s circumstances. Championship leader Mikayla Nielsen, who led the first two laps, suffered a hand injury that hampered her pace. The SLR Honda rider underwent medical tests afterward and, despite her injury, will need to line up for the final round to secure the 2025 title.
Behind them, Ty Woolslayer outpaced Mackenzie Caverhill (KTM) as the laps went by to claim the final podium spot. With this third place, the Yamaha rider locks in her position on the championship podium.
With just one round remaining, the stage is set for a dramatic finale as Silvestri chases momentum and Nielsen fights to defend her crown.
