Australia’s Women’s World Trophy lineup for the 2025 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) has seen a notable change, with rising star Madison Healey stepping in to replace the injured Tayla Jones. The event, set to take place in Bergamo, Italy from August 24–29, will be Healey’s first appearance at the prestigious off-road competition.
Tayla Jones, a cornerstone of the Australian ISDE effort since 2013, was forced to withdraw after sustaining leg injuries during a Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) round in the United States. Her absence paves the way for 21-year-old Healey, who has rapidly made a name for herself in the national enduro and motocross scenes.
A native of Kialla, Victoria, Healey has delivered standout results in the Yamaha Australian Enduro Championship (AORC) over the past two seasons. Her impressive 2024 and 2025 Finke Desert Race victories, combined with consistent top-10 finishes in the Penrite ProMX Championship, underscore her adaptability across off-road disciplines. Most recently, she claimed two second-place finishes behind Jess Gardiner during the Casterton round of the AusEnduro series, reinforcing her readiness for international competition.
Speaking about the opportunity, Healey expressed both excitement and gratitude: “I am overwhelmed and very excited with the opportunity to represent Motorcycling Australia in the 2025 ISDE,” said Madi. “It’s disappointing for Tayla, but I’ll be trying my hardest over the next six weeks to prepare for what will be a gruelling event.”
The Australian Women’s World Trophy squad for 2025 will now consist of Healey, seasoned competitor Jess Gardiner, and US-based Danielle McDonald, forming a trio determined to bring the title back home for the first time since 2018.
Healey is already deep into her preparation, balancing race commitments with intensive ISDE training. She is set to compete in the Penrite Hattah Desert Race this week before continuing her preparations for the six-day endurance challenge. “There’s still plenty to do, which includes working on my tyre changing skills! There’s still some fine-tuning required on that front, but I’m just so excited about what’s ahead,” she admitted.
With support from teammates Gardiner and McDonald, Healey is confident heading into her ISDE debut. “I’m really happy with how my enduro form has been progressing, and I’ve already been chatting to Jess about the ISDE in terms of preparation and what I can expect when I get there,” Healey shared. “Having Jess and Danielle helping me will be a huge asset, and I can’t wait to get to Italy and be a part of it all.”
She’ll also be backed by her close-knit support network: “My mum, dad and partner will also be joining me at the event, so there’s going to be plenty of family support.”
