On Saturday at the MXGP of Australia, Taylah McCutcheon delivered a promising performance. Running in fourth place for much of the race, the Australian eventually faded in the closing stages as fatigue set in, but still showed great speed. It was an encouraging ride she was eager to build on in Sunday’s second moto.

Unfortunately, her race came to an abrupt end. Just after the start, the Empire Kawasaki rider was hit by another competitor and went down, bringing Amandine Verstappen down with her. Restarting from the back of the field, Taylah fought her way forward with an impressive comeback before another crash left her unable to continue.

Forced to retire, McCutcheon was later diagnosed with a foot injury and underwent surgery that same afternoon. She now faces a period of recovery. Despite the setback, the young Australian has clearly shown her potential and speed — raising hopes that this could open new opportunities for her next season.

Get well soon, Taylah!
